The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiological results of the treatment of aseptic nonunion of the tibia by plating and bone grafting. Material and Methods: This retrospective study included 40 patients with aseptic nonunion of the tibia, treated in the Trauma-Orthopedic department B4 of CHU Hassan II in Fez-Morocco. The average age was 41 years (range 25–60 years). The initial fractures were in the middle third of the tibia for the majority of our patients. We used the ASAMI criteria to assess the results.

The ankle joint is a trochlear joint whose main characteristic is to be a load joint and therefore sensitive to the slightest anatomical anomaly. At a time when progress in orthopedics is due to prosthetic surgery in many joints (hip, knee, shoulder, etc.), the ankle continues to benefit from the classic arthrodesis technique, known since ALBERT in 1879.

Radiocarpal dislocations and fractures are rare and serious injuries of the wrist (0.2% of dislocations) always occurring during significant trauma. They are defined by a total or partial loss of contact of the carpus with the distal articular surface of the radius; unlike fractures of the distal radius, perilunate dislocations of the carpus or sprains (scapholunate or triquetro-lunate) where the entire carpus always remains centered under the distal radial epiphysis (only the semilunate is dislocated in perilunate carpal dislocations).

The congenital nonunion of the olecranon, which Habbe called “patella cubiti,” is a very rare anatomical variation [1]. In a typical case, the entire olecranon or part of it is separated from the proximal ulna, the bony edges are regular and smooth with a cortical outline on each side. Generally it is asymptomatic and its diagnosis is discovered incidentally. We report a patient whose diagnosis was made following a trauma.

Floating knee is a fracture association in the lower limb described by Blake and Mcbryde [1] in 1974 to designate ipsilateral fractures of the femur and tibia. It most often occurs in the context of multiple trauma causing associated brain, thoracic and abdominal lesions that endanger the patient's vital prognosis. Management must be multidisciplinary, early and optimal with the essential goals of: stabilization of vital functions in the multiple trauma patient, effective and definitive treatment allowing early recovery, maximum prevention of complications and well-conducted rehabilitation.

Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is a common endocrine disorder characterized by hypercalcemia and elevated or abnormally normal parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels, resulting from the excessive secretion of PTH by one or more parathyroid glands. In this report, we emphasize the significance of a proper approach when dealing with bone lesions. Our patient experienced a 4-month history of incapacitating pain in her right hip, leading to serious difficulty in walking. An MRI revealed multiple bone lesions, initially raising suspicion of plasma cell neoplasia. A comprehensive evaluation of the phosphocalcic panel is always essential to rule out conditions like primary hyperparathyroidism as the underlying cause of the lesions, as seen in this case.

The parotid gland, one of the three major salivary glands in the body, can host both benign and malignant tumors. The overall incidence of salivary gland tumors is less than 5 per 100,000 population per year, representing 3-4% of all head and neck tumors, 80% of which are located in the parotid gland. The occurrence of benign synchronous parotid neoplasms is considered unusual, particularly those involving histologically distinct types, which are exceptionally rare, accounting for only 0.3% of all tumors.

Angiodysplasia is an important and frequent cause of long-term intermittent gastrointestinal (GI) bleed in elderly patients. Gastrointestinal angiodysplasia (GIAD) is one of the most common cause in the elderly, while tumors dominate in younger individuals (below 50 years of age). GIAD can present as hematochezia, malena or as iron deficiency anemia with intermittently positive occult blood in stools. Several methods have been invented and tried with no desired outcomes. Recurrent symptoms and requirement for blood transfusions despite endoscopic therapy necessitate the evaluation for a pharmacological intervention.

Dry eye is a common ophthalmic disorder in dogs that can lead to serious ocular complications. The objective of this case series was to evaluate a new preservative-free carbomer 0.2% eye gel in five dogs with dry eyes. Ophthalmic examination was performed on D0, D15, and D30, rating conjunctivitis, keratitis, ocular discharge and irritation from 0 to 3. Global ocular clinical (GOC) score was obtained by the sum of the individual scores. Tear film quantity and quality were measured using Schirmer Tear test (STT1) and tear film break-up time (TBUT).

Neurocutaneous melanosis (NCM) is a rare congenital syndrome defined by the combination of large or giant congenital melanocytic nevi and leptomeningeal melanocytic proliferation. NCM harbors per se an increased risk, as high as 12%, of malignant transformation to melanoma, arising in the context of either the congenital nevi or the central nervous system. The vast majority (75%) of NCM is a result of somatic mosaicism due to a single postzygotic mutation involving NRAS codon 61, which can be found both in skin and central nervous system localizations. BRAF V600E mutation is present only in a minority of patients with NCM (~12.5%).

Benign metastasizing leiomyoma is a rare condition that challenges the traditional understanding of uterine leiomyomas. This condition has been documented in women with a history of uterine leiomyomas, with the metastatic nodules appearing predominantly in the lungs. The pathogenesis of BML remains incompletely understood, and there is a paucity of high-quality clinical evidence regarding its optimal management. The exact mechanism underlying BML development is still a subject of debate. Several theories have been proposed, including hematogenous spread, lymphatic dissemination, and intraperitoneal seeding.
