Mucormycosis (zygomycosis) is a rare opportunistic and life-threatening infection that almost always affects immunocompromised patients. This infection was caused by the zygomycetes class of fungi, Mucorales order, etc. Rhizopus, Mucor, Rhizomucor and Absidia species. These organisms are commonly found on the floor, in decaying organic matter such as vegetables, in animal feces and in the soil. The most frequent mode of transmission is inhalation of the spores followed by implantation of the fungi into the skin lesion, such as burns and ingestion of the spore, and the rarest mechanism is direct intravenous transmission.

We report a case study of a patient with a clinical diagnosis of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) referred to a neurochemistry Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) study. The clinical evaluation prior to scanning suggested the presence of PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) accompanied by suicidal ideation. MRS prior to and at the completion treatment and 12-weeks post treatment identified neurotransmitters consistent with a diagnosis of PTSD and MDD.

Mental illnesses are related to the spiritual and religious dimensions of human experience. This has not yet been sufficiently taken into account in diagnostic and therapeutic processes. The aim of this overview is to show, on the basis of the rich tradition of the Christian Orthodox faith, not only that there is a history of Far Eastern provenance with regard to relaxation techniques and mental strategies, but also that the inclusion of spiritual and pastoral elements can help the individual patient to “peace of mind” (hesychia).

In 1938, Wolfram and Wagener (1) first defined Wolfram syndrome 1, an autosomal recessive and neurodegenerative disorder (WS1; MIM 222300). WS1 is characterized by diabetes insipidus, diabetes mellitus, optic atrophy, and deafness (DI DM OA D). The International Classification of Diseases (ICD- 11) has subclassified WS1 as an uncommon type of diabetes (2). Additionally, neuromuscular pathology with biochemical abnormalities in muscles, as well as central neurodegenerative changes, has been documented (3,4). A wide range of neurological and psychiatric symptoms, such as brainstem and cerebellar atrophy, cognitive impairment, seizures, anxiety, and depression, has been found in WS1 patients (5,6,7,8).

Based on the inseparability and correlativity of the biological systems, we proposed the nonlinear whole biology and its basic hypotheses [1]. This may unify reductionism and holism, structuralism and functionalism on biology, and is consistent with systems biology [2,3], which integrates multiple different levels in biological systems, from multiple molecules, cells, individuals, to populations, communities, ecosystems [4]. Further, based on the same character of human body, we proposed the nonlinear whole medicine and its three hypotheses and mathematics [5].

he discovery of the systolic and diastolic sounds of the brachial artery (1~4) laid the foundation for modern blood pressure theory and medicine (1~9). Koh defined the first tone as systolic blood pressure; the second tone as diastolic blood pressure (3, 4, 5). This set of values: systolic blood pressure/ diastolic blood pressure mmHg, for more than 100 years.

Discipline construction is one of the key contents of modern hospital management [1]. Nursing is an important part of medical and health careers. Under the new situation of the national economic restructuring and the medical and health services reform, the nursing discipline has entered a period of rapid development. In 2011, Nursing was approved as a first-level discipline by the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council [ 2 ], which ended the long- term status of nursing as a second-level discipline under clinical medicine; at present, the discipline construction of hospitals pays more attention to clinical medicine, and less attention is paid to the construction of nursing disciplines. Explore [ 3 ].
